The End Result…

By completing this course you will be able to operate Side Loaders (also commonly known as Swing lifts) allowing containers to be self-loaded and unloaded.

Prerequisites/Requirements

This course is directed at those who are owners or operators of Side Loaders and those who wish to be. There are no prerequisites other than the correct class of licence for the vehicle being operated.

Course Information

The Side Loader Course runs for a day which includes theory training in the morning and a practical session in the afternoon. On completion of this course successful participants will be presented with a Certificate of Competence.

By having completed this course you will have the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to operate a Side Loader safely and competently. These practical skills and theory knowledge include…
-Operator Safety
-Using different makes of lifters
-Familiarisation of controls, components and lifting functions
-General site and lifter pre start checks
-Lifter and container dynamics
-Identifying limits of the lifter and how to stay within them
-Safe and Compliant use, including understanding of Occupational Safety and Health
